Homewood trustees will consider measures Tuesday that would vacate 175th Street east of Halsted to make way for Menards store to expand.
Trustees will vote on an intergovernmental agreement with the Village of Thornton. Under the agreement, Thornton will vacate Brown Derby Road east of Menards and Homewood will vacate 175th Street north of the store. Homewood would also agree to share with Thornton a portion of the sales tax increase due to the store expansion.
Trustees will also consider an ordinance conveying a portion of 175th Street to Menards in return for fair market value of the property.
The store expansion is slated to be completed in 2017.

The Homewood Board of Trustees will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the board room, lower level of Village Hall, 2020 Chestnut Road.
