A Flossmoor woman is seeking community support after the sudden death of her daughter early Monday, July 20.
Elizabeth Gerald is hoping to raise money for funeral and burial expenses. A Gofundme.com page has been set up to accept donations.
Her daughter, Marcelle J. “Marcie” Gerald, was unresponsive early that morning and was taken to South Suburban Hospital, where she was declared dead at 6:31 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. The cause of death is pending.
Woods Funeral Home in Chicago Heights, 1003 S. Halsted St., is handling arrangements. Gerald said visitation would be from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Visitation Friday will begin at 10 a.m. with the funeral at 11 a.m., according to the funeral home.
