Cool clouds

And now, for some H-F Chronicle sloganeering.

“Read the Chronicle. Tell your friends.”

“Get in the H-F Chronicle habit.”

“Don’t miss a day of the H-F Chronicle.”

“Say, ‘I saw it in the Chronicle.’”

Breathtaking, right? We are sure that you are already texting your friends, “Read the Chronicle.” Or posting “don’t miss a single day” on social media.

Truth is, we don’t have much of a budget for self-promotion. You may have noticed that the H-F Chronicle comes to you free of charge. If we were supported by, say, the Ford Foundation, you’d see electric signs all along I-57. “Read the Chronicle. Tell your friends,” they’d scream in 25-foot letters.

Like that classic Temptations song, we ain’t too proud to beg.

Here goes: Please tell your friends. Read the Chronicle.

We do have a few tricks up our sleeve, though. Watch our call to action once some of our sneaky journalistic chicanery is applied.

READ THE CHRONICLE! TELL YOUR FRIENDS!

Whew. That was exciting.

What we’d really like to do is give you our message with stirring musical accompaniment. Again, though, there’s nothing in the budget for a tuba (BLAAT!), cymbals (CLANG!) and kettle drums (BOOM!)

Ready?

READ THE CHRONICLE! TELL YOUR FRIENDS! (BLAAT! CLANG! BOOM!)

But seriously folks.

We’d truly like you to do all those things at the top of the page. We’d also like you to give us your story ideas and to let us know how you think we are doing.

Amid all the blaating and clanging, we’d like you to think of us as the H-F area’s top news source. Right now, we are relying on word of mouth — or its digital version — so that more people in our towns receive the Chronicle’s message.

As we mark our first anniversary we genuinely have some GREAT PLANS for the future. For now, we are just asking you to read the Chronicle and to tell your friends to get in the Chronicle habit, to never miss a day and to say, “I saw it in the Chronicle.”
