Ravisloe Country Club in Homewood will be the site for four concerts presented by the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra (IPO) in its IPO@Ravisloe summer music series.

Orchestra members organize into special groupings for these 7 p.m. performances that have distinctive music presented around specific themes.

Opening the series on July 1 will be the “Brass Quintet 4th of July Special” that will celebrate with patriotic music. This performance will be a perfect start for the holiday weekend.

The July 22 program, “Tango & Strings,” will transport you to a fiesta when IPO members perform tangos and other Latin-inspired rhythms.

On Aug. 12, the IPO woodwinds will present a “Summer Night Wind Serenade” featuring exquisite melodies by the flute, clarinet and oboe performers.

Rounding out the series will be an Aug. 26 concert, “Cool Jazz on a Hot Night” that will feature the Ben Clark Quintet performing music by Gershwin, Porter, Kern and others.

Tickets are sold individually for $30 per show, or $100 for a subscription to all four performances. Individual tickets sold at the door are $35. Reduced fees are $10 for students with a school ID, and $19 per show for groups of seven or more purchased in advance. Ticket sales can be made at ipomusic.org or by calling 708-481-7774.

Guests are invited to enjoy a meal before the concert at Ravisloe’s Bunker Bar & Grill. Ravisloe Country Club is at 18231 Park Ave.
