H-F boys golf team advances to state championship

The Homewood-Flossmoor High School boys varsity golf team advanced to the Illinois high school state championship with a third place finish at Monday’s sectional round in Alton. 

The team was led by senior Jack Mulligan who took second place overall with an even par 72. 

Other contributors were Preston Genett (79), Kevin Steiner (80), Brent Hughes (87), Perry Hoag (88) and Jack Calderone (90).

The golf team will compete for the state championship with 12 teams Oct. 16 and 17 at The Den at Fox Creek in Bloomington.
