Her shop’s new location never quite worked out, so Nathalie Goich is hanging up her retail hat after 17 years running Nathalie’s Interiors in downtown Homewood.

Goich is conducting a liquidation sale at 2045 Ridge Road, where most merchandise is at least 50 percent off.

On Saturday morning, Aug. 27, a steady stream of customers — some regulars, some new — came through looking for bargains.

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Goich said she expects to conclude the sale by the end of September.

The store is full of a wide range of products, including designer handbags, dinnerware, antique reproductions, clothing, art, luggage, furniture, collectibles and stuffed animals.

Goich said age and business complications from moving the store earlier this year contributed to her decision to close the shop.

For most of its history, Nathalie’s Interiors was at 2009 Ridge Road, but when the lease was not renewed, she moved her inventory to 2045 Ridge Road. The move was a big task, and then problems with the new location delayed her plans to reopen, she said.

“I’m 78. I can’t move again,” she said.

Nathalie’s Interiors is the last business to leave the Triumph Building. Earlier this summer, the Edward Douglas salon moved east to 1940 Ridge Road.
