Grande Prairie Singers season tickets available

The Grande Prairie Singers will mark their 40th anniversary season opening with a “Winterlude 2016” concert on Dec. 11.

“We’re always seeking to move up in terms of the kinds of music we do,” said Jo Rodenberg, the group’s artistic director. “We do extremely diverse things. We love to do pop music but we love to do super early music. That shows in many of our concerts.”

Season tickets will include the “Winterlude 2016,” program at St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church in Matteson; the “Hoorah for Handel!” program on March 12 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Tinley Park; and “Moses to Max: Jewish Music from Sinai to Carnegie Deli” on May 21 at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church.

Tickets for the season are $40.  For further information visit the website at www.grandeprairiechoral.org. Tickets are also available at the door of each performance for $20.

In addition to their season lineup, the Grande Prairie Singers and Children’s Choir will perform in a holiday concert on Dec. 17 presented by the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra at Lincoln-Way West High School in New Lenox, and a Rodgers and Hammerstein show presented by the Southwest Symphony Orchestra at Trinity Christian College on March 25.
