Golf and brews event canceled

The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District has canceled its Fore & Pour event set for Saturday, Sept. 10.

Although staff worked hard to put everything in place, the decision was made Tuesday to cancel.

“We just didn’t get the response we needed,” Debbie Kopas, parks executive director, told commissioners at the Committee of the Whole session Tuesday.

The event was to be at Coyote Run where golfers would enjoy a round of golf with craft brew tastings at nine holes. The event also was meant for the non-golfer. After 5 p.m. participants would have enjoyed a barbeque dinner and entertainment.
