Rep. Kelly hosts Monday meeting on health care needs

U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly, D-Ill., is convening an issues-focused hearing on Monday, Aug. 14, aimed at strengthening the debate on healthcare reform.
 
The non-partisan Congressional field inquiry will be conducted from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Dirksen U.S. Courthouse, 219 S. Dearborn St. in Chicago in Room 2525.
 
Kelly, who represents Homewood and Flossmoor in Congress, said constituents and stakeholders will be able to ask questions of panel members and discuss how the health care needs of Illinois families can be met. She said the goal of the session is to “raise Congressional discourse above hyper-partisan politics.”
 
The panelists are:
  • Dr. Robert Winn, director of the UIC Cancer Center, associate vice president for health affairs, University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago
  • Terika Richardson, President of Advocate Trinity
  • Donna Thompson, CEO, Access Community Health Network
  • Dr. Susan Rogers, retired internist from Stroger Hospital
  • Dr. Ulysses Burley, HIV/AIDS consultant, founder of UB The Cure LLC
  • Dr. Raul Garza, Aunt Martha’s CEO, speaking on behalf of the Board of Roseland Community Health Center
