Marian Catholic Band part of opening ceremonies at Sox game Aug. 26

The Marian Catholic High School Marching Band, a seven-time Bands of America Grand National Champion and Class 3A State Champion for 37 consecutive years, will open the Chicago White Sox game on Saturday, Aug. 26, by performing the Star Spangled Banner from center field.

It is also Star Wars Night at Guaranteed Rate Field, and the band will play the Star Wars “Imperial March” as they lead fans in a parade around the field.

Marian Catholic 2011 alumnus Joseph Bergen, a former member of the band, will throw out the first pitch at the 6:10 p.m. game between the White Sox and the Detroit Tigers. The honor coincides with the celebration of Bergen’s recent graduation from Saint Louis University with a doctorate in physical therapy.
