Food needed for SSFS Adopt-A-Family Program

At this giving season, you might be the donor who can help South Suburban Family Shelter (SSFS) with its Adopt-A-Family program.

SSFS is a not-for program organization helping victims of domestic violence and their children.  Donors can make a difference for these families this holiday season by giving turkeys, canned vegetables and fruit, canned sweet potatoes, apple and cranberry juice, brownie and cake mixes, frosting and instant coffee.

Call 708-794-2140 to check that someone will be at the SSFS administrative office at 18139 Harwood Ave. in Homewood to accept donation. Regular staffing hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Cash donations and gift cards are appreciated and can sent to Adopt-A-Family at South Suburban Family Shelter, P.O. Box 937, Homewood, IL 60430.

For more information about the Adopt-A-Family food donations program, or a complete list of the needs, contact Vicki Meilach at SSFS by email at[email protected]  or call 708-794-2140, ext. 303.
