Flossmoor Community Church hosts the Wooster Chorus on March 16

The Wooster Chorus, an ensemble of 70 student musicians from The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 16, at Flossmoor Community Church, 847 Hutchinson Rd., as part of the group’s 53rd annual spring tour.

The chorus will present “Resolution,” an eclectic program of choral music that examines a journey of personal and communal resolve. The program features the music of contemporary composers in a survey spanning the whimsical to the sublime. Pieces will include “Ave Maria” by Biebel, as well as the premiere of Jake Runestad’s “Please Stay.”

The chorus is under the direction of Lisa Wong.

The Wooster Chorus, founded in 1964, is a three-time finalist for the American Prize in Choral Performance and has been praised for its beautiful sound, high level of artistry and engaging performances. The Chorus has performed at the Central Division conference of the American Choral Directors Association, and also at the 2014 and 2016 state conference of the Ohio Music Education Association.

This program is free, but a freewill offering will be taken. Additional information is available by e-mail to [email protected]
