H-F High golf team takes first, Hoag advances to state tourney

Homewood-Flossmoor golfer Perry Hoag finished well at the IHSA Class 3A state golf tournament in Bloomington Oct. 13 and 14. The H-F golf team finished its season on a positive note on Oct. 3 with a first place finish at the IHSA regional golf tournament.

Homewood-Flossmoor golfer Perry Hoag finished well at the IHSA Class 3A state golf tournament in Bloomington Oct. 13 and 14.

Hoag, a junior, shot 79 and 71 at the tournament, giving him the lowest 36-hole total for an H-F golfer since 2000. He finished 26th in the tournament.

The H-F golf team finished its season on a positive note on Oct. 3 with a first place finish at the IHSA regional golf tournament at Deer Creek Golf Club in University Park. The victory was H-F’s first regional first place finish since 2009.

Hoag’s teammates are Hayden Henry, Cole Weber, John Weeks, Kaden Parish, Henry Thiros, Chris Radosta, Quinn Henry and Marcus Alderson.

Hoag led the team with a third place finish and a score of 80. Sophomore Kaden Paris took fifth place with an 82. Also contributing to the team effort was senior John Weeks with an 85 and junior Hayden Henry at 88.

Chris Stiglic is head coach of the boys golf team.    

Tennis competitors
Congratulations also to three members of the girls tennis team who competed in the IHSA State Girls Tennis Finals. Competitors were singles player Lauren Legard, a freshman, and Elyse Mansfield and Lauren Parker, seniors, who compete as a doubles team.
