H-F drama students presenting season finale 'She Kills Monsters'

Homewood-Flossmoor High School drama students will present “She Kills Monsters,” a dramatic comedy, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 3, 4 and 5, in the school’s Mall Auditorium. It will be the final presentation for the 2017-18 season.
The play tells the story of Agnes Evans, a high school teacher who is leaving her childhood home after the death of her teenaged sister, Tilly, who was very much into “Dungeons & Dragons,” a fantasy tabletop role-playing game. The game assigns each player a character who embarks on an imaginary adventure.
When Agnes finds Tilly’s “Dungeons & Dragons” notebook, she stumbles into a journey of discovery and an adventure into the imaginary world that was Tilly’s refuge.
The play is directed by Jill Bonavia-Galligani, fine arts and English teacher, working with cast members Joy Woods as Agnes and Maggie Sullivan as Tilly.
Other case members are Barbara Burns, Kalia Chambliss, Joey Cipriano, Mark Cruse, Ariel Davis, Ava Jones, Michael Kennedy, Jonathan Kriarakis, Leanna Lewis, Maddie Moxley, Christian Monroe-Haynes, Jacob Rodriguez, Alexa Sampson, Haley Sawyer, Greta Schmidt, Jaira Stanley, Maggie Sullivan, Sheri Tarrer, Kevin Thompson and Brianna Valentine.
Costume assistants are Charles Austin, Adeera Harris, Leanna Lewis, McKalyn Powell, Zora Shannon, Zaiya Williams and Camille Willis. Fight captains are Ariel Davis and Michael Kennedy. Student directors are Siara Carpenter, Natalie Elfner, Kieran Hanley, Charlotte McManus, Ariel Mitchell, Noelle Oh, Trevor Robinson, Nia Valdez and Jacob Kirlin.
Musicians are Miranda Esparza, Charlotte McManus, Zora Shannon and Camille Willis.
Tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for senior citizens and students and will be sold at the door.
“She Kills Monsters” is presented through special arrangement with Samuel French Inc. and is recommended for high school through adult audiences.
