H-F High Foundation golf outing Sept. 7

The Homewood-Flossmoor High School Foundation will host a golf outing and dinner and afterward join H-F supporters to celebrate H-F’s homecoming on Sept. 7.

The golf outing is the major fundraiser for the foundation each year. In 2017-18, the foundation awarded $24,000 in grants to student organizations.

The day’s events open with golf at Coyote Run Golf Course with a mega putt contest at noon, and shotgun start at 12:15 p.m. The dinner will be served at 5 p.m.  All participants will get a ticket to the homecoming game when H-F takes on Stagg High.

The golf/dinner package is $130 for an 18-hole round with a cart, lunch, dinner buffet, two-hour open bar and the homecoming ticket.

All are welcome to the dinner segment of this event at Wiley’s Grill. Tickets are $50.

The foundation is also accepting donations from H-F supporters who may not be able to attend the Sept. 7 festivities.

The H-F Foundation was founded in 1982 as a non-profit organization with the goal of enhancing the H-F school experience by providing financial support for unfunded or underfunded programs.  For example, in the past school year the foundation provided $6,000 to help the Viking Orchestra with expenses during its trip to Germany. It awarded $4,000 to the H-F Steppers for its trip to New Jersey where the team won the national title.

All foundation members are volunteers. The golf committee members are Mary Lou Coleman, Brent Bachus, Laura Brennan Levy, Katie Coderro, Susie Goldberg, Amanda Fordon, Sarah Huffman, Anne Humphrey, Sheila Klupchak, Paula Longawa, Tricia Perl, Nancy Schwieterman, Julie Smith, Katie Sullivan and Jan Valuch.
