Toys, donations needed for Respond Now Holiday Giveaway

During this season of giving, Respond Now is seeking unwrapped new toys for boys and girls from newborn to age 14 for its Holiday Giveaway event on Dec. 12 and 13.
The agency is in need of games, books, craft items, sports equipment and gift cards in $20 amounts. While clothes and food are not needed specifically for this drive, Respond Now always accepts food donations for general use and to give their clients a boost for the holiday.
Respond Now is a helping agency in Chicago Heights that works with clients who typically are the working poor, are laid off or on fixed incomes and find it difficult to make ends meet.
Respond Now donors continue to make an impact, especially at holiday time. In 2017, Respond Now received $45,000 in in-kind donations for its Holiday Giveaway event that helped more than 200 clients who registered to “shop” for appropriate gifts for their families.
Donations for this year’s drive can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Monday, Dec. 10, at Respond Now headquarters, 1439 Emerald Ave. in Chicago Heights. Donations will be accepted after Dec. 10 at Living Springs Church, 19051 Halsted St. in Glenwood.
