Pop culture trivia tournament Jan. 5 at H-F High

You may think your brain is cluttered with useless facts, but they could come in handy at the second annual Pop Culture Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 5, at Homewood-Flossmoor High School.
 
The contest, hosted by H-F’s Scholastic Bowl team, starts at 8:45 a.m. in the H-F South Building.

The contest, hosted by H-F’s Scholastic Bowl team, starts at 8:45 a.m. in the H-F South Building.
 
Questions come from past Scholastic Bowl quiz kits, such as:
 
This 1963 Beach Boys song set to the tune of a Chuck Berry song declares, “You’d see ’em wearin’ their baggies/Huarachi sandals, too/A bushy, bushy blonde hairdo…”
 
And:
 
One of the most famous people to do this was Darryl Dawkins of the Philadelphia 76ers, who did it twice in one season which resulted in the NBA adopting the new “breakaway rim” because of this action he performed.
