[Update]

Homewood police posted an update Sunday, Dec. 30, noting that two people have been arrested in the Christmas night vandalism incident. Anthony Jackson, 25, of Olympia Fields, and Meagan McGarrigle, 26, of Homewood, were each charged with multiple counts of criminal damage to property, police said.*

Talk about a couple of Grinches.

On Christmas night, at least two people spray-painted graffiti on a home, utility boxes and multiple businesses in Homewood along Morris Avenue, Martin Avenue, Ridge Road and 183rd Street, according to Homewood police.

Sometime after 10 p.m. on Dec. 25, the offenders sprayed white scribbles and lettering on a residence in the 18300 block of Morris Avenue, utility boxes in the 18100 block of Martin Avenue and businesses along Ridge Road and 183rd Street.

According to a Homewood Police Department press release: “At this time, the graffiti marks are not believed to be gang related. The letters YERK and ETR were visible at some locations.”

  Homewood Police are
  asking anyone who
  recognizes the subjects
  to call (708) 206-3420.

The press release also included three photos of the possible offenders. The Homewood Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating the incident.

It asks anyone who may be able to identify either of the subjects pictured to contact Homewood Police Department at (708) 206-3420.

The press release added this statement: “The Homewood Police Department encourages residents to contact the department whenever they observe suspicious people, vehicles or activity in their neighborhoods.

“Call 911 for any emergency situation. The ECOM Dispatch non-emergency number is (708) 799-6834.”
