Kuumba Singers performing at All Nations Church on March 11

The Kuumba Singers of Harvard College will present a free concert in Homewood on March 11 as part of its spring tour.

The Kuumba Singers, founded in 1970, is the oldest black undergraduate organization at Harvard University. Raven Fisher, an alumna of both Homewood-Flossmoor High School and Harvard, is a member of the group. They will be singing from 5 to 7 p.m. at her church, All Nations Community Church, 18620 Kedzie Ave.
Kuumba is a Swahili word meaning “to create.” The Kuumba Singers celebrate black creativity and spirituality through song, dance, poetry, theater, visual art and other mediums of creative expression.
Attendees are asked to register online.
