Diet, exercise program starts Jan. 11 at racquet club

If your New Year’s resolution was to take the weight off, the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District has a special program to help get you started and keep you motivated.

“Jump Start Challenge” meets from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays, Jan. 11 through March 29, at the H-F Racquet & Fitness Club, 2920 W. 188rd St. in Homewood.  The program will focus on weekly workouts and weigh-ins, plus sessions with a nutritionist.

“At the H-F Racquet Club, we realize you can’t exercise your way out of a bad diet. So this year we are getting valuable nutrition information from the dietetic staff at Ingalls Hospital. We are confident that adding the dietary component will make this year’s ‘Jump Start Challenge’ a success,” said Tricia Butcher, group fitness coordinator.

Exercise formats will vary from week to week. This program is for men and women. The fee is $75 for club members and $95 for non-members. Information is at 708-957-0300.
