At the regular board meeting Tuesday Homewood trustees will witness four new employees take the oath of office and will consider a request for installation of a four-way stop at a residential intersection and a request for a day care center special use permit.
The board meets at 7:30 p.m. in village hall, 2020 Chestnut Road.
Three new officers will officially join the Homewood Police Department: Nicholas Camilli, Thomas Rodeghier and Timothy Rosenberg.
Melanie Hamilton will join the Public Works Department as a street maintenance worker.
In other business, the board will consider a request for a special use permit from Michelle and Alfred Saulsberry to operate a child care center at 18729-18731 Dixie Highway.
The Saulsberrys are also requesting a parking variance. They plan to use four existing parking spaces to create a play area, which would put the number of available spaces below the minimum required by the village.
The board will also consider whether to install a four-way stop at the intersection of Linden Road and Loomis Avenue, one block north of Ridge Road. Residents in the area submitted a petition with 41 signatures asking for the installation of stop signs to reduce speeding by motorists.
