Library game will have participants on the search for Homewood’s water tower

Homewood’s beloved “Home Sweet Homewood” water tower’s been stolen!

That’s the premise of an investigative role playing game sponsored by the Homewood Public Library.

In the game, the thief was spotted in a trench coat and wearing a red hat and the library needs you to be on her trail in a game modeled after “Where in the World in Carmen Sandiego,” a popular game and TV show from the 1980s and ‘90s that had players follow clues that took them around the world in search of the villain Carmen Sandiego.

Your team of six players will be led on the trail on Saturday, July 21, with questions of geography, history and pop culture. The search begins at 1 p.m. at the Homewood Public Library, 17913 Dixie Highway.

Registration is free and open for this “Where in the World…” game and can be done online or by calling the library. The team captain should register the team and list all the players. The library staff suggests a team of various ages as the game has a full range of questions.

A $50 gift card goes to the winning team.
