American Dance Center showcase June 9-10 to highlight student achievements

The American Dan Center student showcase “For the Love” on Saturday and Sunday, June 9 and 10, will be a celebration of dedication to dance — by the dancers and the studio that helps them learn.

The event at Governors State University’s Center for the Performing Arts will mark 48 years ADC has helped youngsters in the South Suburbs acquire the skills and love of dance. ADC has studios in Homewood and Orland Park.

There will be four shows with four different casts. Shows at GSU, 1 University Parkway in University Park, will begin at 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday and noon and 4 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets are available online at americandancecenter.net.
Last minute tickets can be purchased one hour before show time at the theater box office.

The student showcase is presented every other year to provide students with time to concentrate on individualized technical training in all dance styles, including ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop and tap in the non-recital year.

The goal is to build self confidence, understanding and coordination and a means of self expression for an artistic performance. All students, ranging from 3 years old through adult, are placed in classes by age and ability level.
