Foundation 153 Fun Fair to raise money for classroom technology

The annual Foundation 153 spring event has changed. The old Spring Gala fundraiser has become the Fun Fair, a new approach but for the same cause.

The event for adults will take place at Idlewild Country Club, 19201 Dixie Highway, from 6 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 10.

Tickets are $65 in advance, $75 at the door, and will include live music, food, beer and wine. Tickets can be purchased at the Foundation 153 website.

Proceeds will benefit Homewood School District 153 schools. Foundation President Rita Davenport said the organization has a goal to raise $40,000 to help the district with classroom technology needs.

She said the changes to the event are intended to make it a little less formal, more relaxed and fun.
