‘Sound of Music’ sing-along benefit is Nov. 4

Having a great voice isn’t a requirement. Come to the “Sound of Music” benefit for the fun!
The H-F Fine and Performing Arts Council is presenting the “Sound of Music” sing-along Nov. 4 to support the Homewood-Flossmoor High School chorale's trip to Italy this spring.
There will be two showings at 2:30 and 6:30 p.m. at the Irwin Center, 18120 Highland Ave. in Homewood. Tickets are $10 and are available from Alissa Opyd at Homewood village hall at 708-206-3393    .
Come watch the movie for its beautiful scenery and heartwarming story of a family’s attempts to stay together as Nazis invade Austria at the start of World War II. If you’re up to it, join Julie Andrews when she sings about her favorite things, encourages the children with her do-re-mi rhymes and helps them perform Edelweiss about their love of country.

There’s no need to memorize the words. They will appear on the screen when the music starts. H-F chorale members will be blending with the crowd to encourage all to join in.
Popcorn will be available.
