Homewood trustees to consider street resurfacing agreement, new liquor license for convenience store

Homewood trustees will consider an intergovernmental agreement at its Tuesday meeting that would enable the resurfacing of 175th Street.

The agreement with the Cook County Department of Transportation would govern the project, which outlines resurfacing the street and repairing curbs and sidewalks from Ashland Avenue to the entrance to the Menards store on the east side of Halsted Street.

Trustees will also consider a liquor license request from the new management firm at Southgate Mini Mart, 18747 Dixie Highway.

Paresh Patel submitted a request for a class 10 liquor license, which allows the sale of package beer and wine for off-premises consumption.

In other business, the board will consider
  • A raffle license request from Glenwood Academy.
  • A renewal of food establishment inspection services from the Cook County Department of Public Health.
Presentations will include a proclamation celebrating the 175th
Anniversary of B’nai B’rith International and a check presentation from the Homewood Lions Club to help pay for new audible traffic signals that were installed recently at three intersections.

The board meets at 7:30 p.m. in village hall, 2020 Chestnut Road.
