Police investigate daytime shooting Saturday in Homewood

One person was seriously injured in a shooting Saturday, Sept. 1, in the 19100 block of Loomis Avenue in Homewood, according to police.

  before 1:40 p.m.

One person was seriously injured in a shooting Saturday, Sept. 1, in the 19100 block of Loomis Avenue in Homewood.

Police responded to the area at 1:42 p.m. to investigate a report of shots fired and found one person with gunshot injuries.

Homewood Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and the victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, according to police.
 
The Homewood Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating the incident with assistance from the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force. Police ask anyone who may have been in the area and have information to call 708-206-3420.
