IPO tickets available for 2018-19 season performances

Tickets are on sale for the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra’s opening concert Oct. 20 that includes selections from American composers.
 
This program is part of the Southland Arts, Municipalities and Business Alliance’s Made in America Festival. The orchestra will perform the overture to Leonard Bernstein’s “Candide” and George Gershwin’s “American in Paris.” 
 
American violin prodigy Simone Porter will be performing Erich Wolfgang Korngold’s “Violin Concerto.” Rounding out the program will be the world premiere of a work written by Ben Ash, the winner of IPO’s first Composer in Residence competition.
 
This performance is at 5:30 p.m. at the Ozinga Chapel on the campus of Trinity Christian College, 6601 W College Dr. in Palos Heights.
 
Following this opening concert, the IPO’s 2018-19 season continues with six more performances on Nov. 17, Dec. 8, Feb. 9, March 16, April 27 and May 18.
