Shots fired on Flossmoor street Friday, police say

Flossmoor police Friday responded to a report of shots being fired in a residential neighborhood.

According to a community alert posted on Sept. 28, two shots were fired at about 2:40 p.m. at the intersection of Wallace Drive and Park Drive.

Police said the incident took place following a confrontation between several individuals. Witnesses provided details to police.

One individual then brandished a weapon and fired two shots, police said.  All individuals then left the scene in two vehicles. A small caliber shell casing was found on scene. No one was injured during the incident.

All people involved in the incident have been identified, including a person of interest, police said. According to the community alert, “these individuals know each other and this was not a random incident.” An investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Flossmoor Police Department at 708-957-4500.
