Chevrolet of Homewood staff will be firing up the grill from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, to raise awareness and funds for the USO, which provides services and support for local troops and their families.

BBQ for the Troops is an annual event hosted by the dealership at 18033 S. Halsted St. that will include food, activities for kids, a car show and giveaways. The event is free and open to the public.

Local businesses and organizations will be on hand, including Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Home Depot, the U.S. Marines, the U.S. Army, Chipotle, Homewood Police Department, Homewood Fire Department and Homewood Disposal.

The Southside Cruisers, a local club that sponsors car shows throughout the summer months, is a regular participant in the event.
