The Homewood-Flossmoor High School football team will play Curie High School of Chicago at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, in the first round of IHSA state championship competition.
Supporters will be at the H-F High field starting at 5 p.m. cheering on the team with its slogan “We Bleed R.E.D.” (relentless every day).
The play-by-play of the game will be available on WHFH Radio 88.5 FM. H-F got to the playoffs with an 8-1 record. Some games, like the 14-13 victory over Bolingbrook, were hard fought, while others, like the 40-0 win over Lockport, showed the team’s strength.
This is the 10th consecutive year that H-F has made it to the playoffs. In 2015, the team played in the Class 8-A championship game and took the runner-up trophy. Craig Buzea, the football program’s head coach, works with a 19-member coaching staff.
