Theater group hosts auditions for 'Harriet's Halloween Candy'

The 23 Miles South Theatre company will conduct auditions for children, teens and adult parts in its upcoming children’s play.

Auditions will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 9 and 10, at St. Paul Community Church, 18200 Dixie Highway, in Homewood.

The production, “Harriet’s Halloween Candy,” tells the story of candy-loving Harriet who hoards all of her goodies, but learns to share and win back her friends with the help of her mother.

Roles are available for two women, two men and eight children and teens.

“Harriet’s Halloween Candy” will be presented Oct. 25 and 26 under the direction of Dawn Leader-Peloso.

The 23 Miles South Theatre group also has two other plays on its schedule. “Spoon River Anthology” will be performed in November 15, 16 and 17. Auditions for that play are at 7 p.m. Sept. 16 and 17 at the church.

The holiday production Dec. 13 and 14 will be “Jingle Bells Batman Smells,” based on a book from the Junie B. Jones series.

Auditions are set for 6 to 7 p.m. Oct. 7 at the church.

The 23 Miles South Theatre is a community theater based in Homewood. There is no charge to actors to perform in the productions. For additional information, call Leader-Peloso at 708-927-1929 or email [email protected].
