Two Nissan vehicles collided on Halsted Street around 7 p.m. Wednesday, according to Homewood police, causing one to leave the roadway and crash into the front of Boston Market restaurant.
Homewood Deputy Chief Denise McGrath said that just after 7 p.m. on Oct. 14, a Nissan Sentra sedan was headed eastbound across Halsted Street when it was struck by a Nissan Pathfinder SUV traveling northbound on Halsted.
McGrath said the Sentra then drove off the roadway and crashed into the front of the building at 17855 S. Halsted St. in Homewood, which houses Boston Market.
Occupants of both vehicles were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
McGrath said that Homewood police issued the driver of the Nissan Sentra a citation for failure to yield.
