Homewood-Flossmoor High School announced the success of 160 Advanced Placement students earning outstanding recognition on AP exams taken during the 2019-2020 school year.

The AP Scholar Awards are a series of awards given by the College Board for students who have gotten high scores on a number of AP exams. There are different levels of the award, depending on the number of AP exams a student has gotten a high score on, their average AP exam score and the school they attend.

During the past decade, Homewood-Flossmoor's AP program has nearly doubled in size — in both its number of classes and its student enrollment.

H-F students can select from 21 AP courses. In 2011, the College Board recognized H-F as the only school in the state of Illinois with an exemplary Advanced Placement program for its efforts in getting African-American students to succeed in AP classes.
