Park district space for rent for learning pods

Looking for a place school children can learn with others?

The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District is offering various spaces for rent for families and/or pods of remote learners.

These spaces have access to Wi-Fi, are sanitized following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, and give students access to outdoor spaces for breaks from their study routine.

The park district has reduced the hourly rate and is charging $15 per hour for space rental at the Irwin Community Center, Irons Oaks Environmental and Learning Center, the H-F Ice Arena and other locations.  Space is open to H-F Park District residents only. Space is available from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We are only providing a room. The children will still need adult supervision from either a parent or hired adult,” Stephanie Simpson, superintendent of recreation, stressed.

Renters must follow CDC and Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines, and provide cleaning products for their staff and students, Simpson said. To set up a rental or for more information about the safety policies, call the park district office at 708-957-0300.
