Kataras announces resignation from board of trustees

At the end of open session Tuesday, Sept. 9, long-time Homewood Trustee Tom Kataras announced his retirement from the board.

Flossmoor police chief reassures community after home invasion

Flossmoor Police Chief Michael Pulec sent an update and an offer of reassurance to community members concerned about a recent home invasion and sexual assault.

“This type of crime is understandably upsetting, and I want to assure you that the police are doing everything we can to solve this crime,” Pulec said in an email notice.

Village officials: Harvey's water finance woes not likely to affect Homewood water bills

Local residents wondering if Harvey's water finance woes will trickle down to Homewood probably have nothing to fear, according to village officials.

Homewood resident sues village over water bill

In a lawsuit filed in Cook County Circuit Court Tuesday, Aug. 26, a Homewood man is alleging the village fraudulently inflated his water bill and is seeking $50,000 in damages.

Attorney Paul O. Otubusin said last week that his water bill had been at about $200 per billing cycle for several years.

Then June 5 he received a letter from the Village of Homewood alerting him to an unusual spike in water usage — $5,195-worth of water, according to the suit.
