Two weekend events have been cancelled because of lack of registrations, according to organizers.
The Zombie Fun Run, an annual event that benefits Homewood-Flossmoor High School bands, would have been held at Apollo Park on Saturday afternoon.
Organizer Anne Colton said the event is expected to return next year.
“The Zombies will return to their slumber until next fall,” she said. “They are certain to be hungry for victims (aka runners) next year!”

The pumpkins and beer event scheduled for Saturday evening at Irons Oaks Environmental Learning Center would have been a first.
Organizers said the next event at the center will be the Holiday Gift Extravaganza on Dec. 5.
