Representatives of the Citizens Utility Board (CUB) will hold a free presentation at from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, to help electric and natural gas customers in Homewood cut their costs by potentially hundreds of dollars a year, according to a news release from the organization.

The presentation will be held in the meeting room at the Homewood Public Library, 17917 Dixie Highway.
 
Topics will include: 

  • How to spot unnecessary charges on natural gas, electric and phone bills.
  • Energy efficiency programs and rebates that can help people cut their utility bills.
  • Utility rates and how consumers can make good choices in the electric and gas markets.
  • Future installation of smart meters and programs like Peak Time Savings and Hourly Pricing that could yield big savings.
  • CUB services, including its toll-free Consumer Hotline, 1-800-669-5556.
  • CUB Energy Saver, www.CUBEnergySaver.com, a free online tool that recommends actions consumers can take to cut their electric bills by potentially hundreds of dollars a year.
