H-F High girls volleyball moving up in state competition

The girls volleyball team at Homewood-Flossmoor High School is moving into IHSA Sectionals play after winning in regional competition Oct. 29. H-F came out a winner, defeating Thornton High 25-4 and 25-10, giving the team the opportunity to move into sectionals.

On Oct. 31, the team defeated Shepard High 25-16 and 25-20. They next will play Monday, Nov. 4, against Andrew High. If the team’s success continues, they will play again Wednesday, Nov. 6.

The team has an outstanding 24-5 record this season. The team is seniors Journey Barsh, Miara Bolden, Jaylyn Clark, Rorie Dougherty, Allison Faoro, Skylar Hayes, Lia Sidberry; juniors Aisha Al-Amin, Kailey Burns, Tacy Graham, Queen Patterson, Jazz Marks and Tanika Parks; and sophomore Jasmine Heyward.

Each player has a specific position on the court. Head coach is Tony Kruse working with Assistant Coach Mark Ciesielski.
