The total jackpot was $55,820, which was split between Rinearson and the school.

The weekly Queen of Hearts drawing took place every Wednesday evening at Fifth Quarter Press Room and Eatery, 18105 Dixie Highway in Homewood.

The school plans to launch another weekly Queen of Hearts raffle in the coming weeks, with the jackpot starting at $10,000.

Glenwood Academy is a private residential community serving 150 students in grades two through eight, many of whom have experienced violence, poverty and other challenging situations. Nearly all the students live below or at the poverty line.

The school is almost fully funded by fundraising events, such as the Queen of Hearts raffle, as well as donors and sponsors.
