Scenes from the 2017 vigil for domestic violence victims

Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx of Flossmoor was the featured speaker at the South Suburban Family Shelter's 12th annual candelight vigil Monday, Oct. 2, at Irwin Park in Homewood.
The vigil also featured music by members of Bel Canto Children’s Choir.
The event included T-shirts with anti-domestic violence messages and life-size cutouts representing victims of violence.
The event kicked off Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
