Remember July 2018

Our cover feature was a tour of Homewood's historical places, including a then-and-now look at several familiar buildings that continue to shape the village's identity.

Marilyn Thomas wrote about the Cancer Support Center's 25th anniversary of offering support and comfort to cancer patients and their caregivers. She also reported on the H-F Steppers winning the Youth Step USA National Championship.

We included a guest article by Scott Mehaffey about the history of downtown Flossmoor as it was shaped early on by the Illinois Central Railroad and by the construction of the Civic Center on Sterling Avenue.

Tom Houlihan's column marked the fourth anniversary of the Chronicle, which began as an online-only publication in June 2014.

About Us

A great community deserves a great newspaper. The HF Chronicle was created in June 2014 as an online publication. In December 2015 we began monthly print publication, too. Our mission is to chronicle the life of our community — news by, for, and about the people of Homewood and Flossmoor, Illinois.

Do you have something to say? If you want to inform the community about events, issues, recognitions, concerns, etc., write a letter.
