H-F High Summer Theatre presents “Mary Poppins Jr.”

The Flossmoor village board unanimously approved a liquor license for Dunning’s Market & Deli at the April 20 board meeting.

With the license, Dunning’s will be allowed to sell alcohol for purchase and for on-site consumption.

During the current COVID-19 crisis, Dunning’s is only open for take-out purchases.

Dunning’s owner Maureen Mader is looking to sell packaged beer and wine to complement the market’s collection of cheeses, salami and fresh poultry products, she noted in her proposal to the village. She wants to have liquor available to make cocktails for events as well.

“I would add the wine and beer to our already existing Supper Club Program,” Mader said in her proposal. “Customers would choose the wine by the bottle to accompany their dinners. We would also host wine tastings and wine and cheese classes. It would be a natural addition to our cooking classes.”

The cost of the license will cost Dunning’s $1,500 annually. The license restricts Mader from applying for a video gaming license.
