Vice District Brewing grand opening event is Aug. 31

Vice District Brewing will host the grand opening on Friday, Aug. 31, at its new location at 18027-18029 Dixie Highway in Homewood. The craft brewery is selling tickets for two-hour portions of the opening for $25. Vice will donate 25 percent of the proceeds to local nonprofit organizations.

Homewood Hop Fest

Irwin Park will be the place to beer on Saturday

If there’s a beer heaven, it might be located at Irwin Park in Homewood on Saturday. Homewood Hop Fest, sponsored by the Southland Chamber of Commerce, will bring 27 craft brewers to the park and community center at 18120 Highland Ave. from 3 to 6:30 p.m.
