Haney starts work as Homewood's new assistant village manager

Homewood trustees welcomed a new assistant manager to the village staff at the board meeting Tuesday. Napoleon Haney of Matteson took the oath of office to fill the spot that has been vacant since Michael Marzal resigned at the end of January. Haney started work Monday.

Homewood to hold public hearing Tuesday on proposed bond issue

Homewood trustees will host a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, prior to the regular board meeting to entertain comments about a proposed bond issue.

The village plans to issue $1.9 million in general obligation bonds to pay for capital projects and major equipment purchases.

District 153 prepares to ask voters to approve two-year tax increase in March 15 referendum

Homewood School District 153 will ask voters in March to authorize a new bond issue that will mean a two-year increase in taxes before returning to the current rate.
