Local history dominates 16th annual Homewood Chocolate Fest

Homewood's 2018 Chocolate Fest took on an historic flavor in honor of the village's 125th anniversary. The Homewood Historical Society (HHS) took top honors in the annual chocolate bake-off at the festival on Saturday in the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District Auditorium. The organization's team entered a variation on a treat that was born the same year Homewood was incorporated  the brownie.

It's February, and winter is dragging on. On Feb. 18, Homewood will offer it's annual antidote to the cold, gray days ― an opportunity to boost the spirits with a three-hour celebration of chocolate. The 15th annual Chocolate Fest from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. will take place in the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District Auditorium, 2010 Chestnut Road.

Just a reminder ...

The Village of Homewood will be a chocoholic's paradise 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Feb. 20 as it hosts the 14th annual Homewood Chocolate Fest. This year's festival will feature baking demonstrations, children's activities, a science demonstration, vendor booths and the annual Chocolate Bake-Off Contest.
