H-F High singers plan spring trip to Italy

This spring, 65 Homewood-Flossmoor High School singers will take their musical talents to northern Italy led by teacher and choir director Michael Rugen.
 
During the nine-day trip, students performing as the H-F Master Singers will sing at a mass in Venice; at the Duomo, the main cathedral in Milan; and a number of impromptu performances along the way. Rugen said in all the singers will perform five or six times in the nine days.
 

District 153 students honored at ‘Pass the Baton’ music banquet

The District 153 Music Parents Association hosted the nearly 200 students in the music programs at James Hart School in Homewood at its “Pass the Baton” banquet May 2.
 
During the program, several special awards were presented.

In December 2015 we began monthly print publication, too. Our mission is to chronicle the life of our community — news by, for, and about the people of Homewood and Flossmoor, Illinois.
