Rabid Brewing anticipation to pay off Friday as grand opening begins

The beer is flowing. Rabid Brewing's longer-than-expected development period is about to come to an end. On Friday, Oct. 13, and Saturday, Oct. 14, the craft brewery will host its grand opening festivities.

A homegrown craft brewery took another step toward becoming a reality Tuesday, March 22, when the Homewood Board of Trustees approved a special use permit for its operation on the village's east side.
 

Zoning amendment opens the door for craft breweries in Homewood

Craft breweries now have a place in Homewood's zoning code after village trustees approved an amendment to the code Tuesday. Prior to the vote, there wasn't a definition of craft breweries in the code, but the industry is growing, and officials say the interest from brewers in setting up shop in Homewood made an amendment necessary.
