Center for Dental Excellence to host Dentistry from the Heart event on Friday

Dentistry from the Heart will be teaming up with The Center for Dental Excellence in Flossmoor to "spread free smiles" to area residents who often cannot afford dental care.

This will be the seventh annual Dentistry from the Heart event hosted by CDE. It will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 19615 Governors Highway.

Veterans can get free dental services on Nov. 11

Two Flossmoor dental practices are taking part in this year’s statewide Veterans Day dentistry program.
 
On Nov. 11, veterans can receive free dental treatment at the Southland Smiles and the Center for Dental Excellence. 
 
The program is sponsored by the Illinois State Dental Society (ISDS) to show appreciation to veterans across the state.
 

Prairie State College thanks Homewood dentist for his work establishing dental hygiene clinic

It was 50 years ago that Homewood resident Dr. Francis Wright helped organize the dental hygiene program at Prairie State College. In June, PSC paid tribute to Wright, presenting him with its Pioneer Pillar award in recognition of his work on behalf of the program he helped develop.

Flossmoor’s Richard Mantoan to host free day of dentistry

Dr. Richard Mantoan is out to change lives on March 19 by offering free smiles to anyone who needs dental work as he hosts Dentistry From The Heart, his fifth charity event at his office, Southland Smiles, 19815 Governors Highway in Flossmoor.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and Mantoan and his volunteers will start seeing patients at 8 a.m.  Care will be given on a first-come first-served basis.  They expect to treat 50 patients, or as many people as they can serve by 4 p.m.
