H-F administration will check fieldhouse security measures

H-F Board sets Aug. 12 as start of 2015-2016 school year

Homewood-Flossmoor High School’s board approved the calendar for the 2015-2016 academic year. Students will begin the new school year on Aug. 12, 2015, with graduation set for May 29, 2016.

H-F gets ‘A’ ranking in online survey

Homewood-Flossmoor High School earned an overall rating of ‘A’ in 2015 rankings released this week by Niche.com

Based on surveys by current students, parents, alumni and administrators, as well as available data from government sources, H-F was ranked 24th amount Illinois’ top high schools.

Responses are scored by Niche.com and judged against all qualifying schools to translate into a final grade on the school’s performance.

H-F Principal will be guest speaker at PTA meeting Wednesday

H-F on par in latest school assessment


While the 2014 School Report Card shows Homewood-Flossmoor High School on par with schools across the state, the state-mandated data doesn’t tell the full story of what goes on at H-F, says Jodi Bryant, Director of Human Resources and Public Relations. 

Faculty and administrators typically use numerous indicators over four years for a more complete picture of the abilities of H-F students.

School funding legislation would hurt Homewood schools, public meeting planned Nov. 5 in Harvey

Illinois legislators are trying to find a better way to fund education, but the current statehouse proposal, Senate Bill 16 (SB16), could wreak havoc on Homewood’s schools, according to school administrators.

H-F’s balanced budgets lead to top financial rating

It’s not easy meeting expenses when revenue is limited, but Homewood-Flossmoor High School District 233, serving 2,800 students, has managed to present balanced budgets the past 12 years.

Ken Parchem, H-F business manager, is proud of that accomplishment and the positive impact it has had on the district’s reputation within financial markets.
